Our story

Kia ora, welcome to Bark Beads!

We’re a small, family-run business based in Kaukapakapa, a rural town in Tāmaki Makaurau. Our journey started with our beloved dog, Tūī, an American Bulldog x Staffy with the sweetest temperament. Sadly, dogs like Tūī, often classified as bully breeds, face unfair stigma despite their loving nature.

At Bark Beads, we believe every pup deserves to shine. Our handmade beaded collars are designed to be stylish, durable, and perfect for all breeds - because every dog, big or small, deserves a little luxury. We’re also passionate about challenging stereotypes and celebrating the unique personality of every furry friend.
